Our favourite range of eco-friendly spirits
Wildjac are an independent distillery, their spirits are distilled and bottled by hand just down the road in Bewdley. They major on natural, locally foraged and ethically sourced ingredients. So in their Rhubarb Rum, you’ll find local Shropshire rhubarb and it’s Worcestershire honey that brings the flavour to their Honey Spiced Rum.
It’s not just what’s inside that counts though…
Wildjac have been working on the environmental impact of their packaging since the brand was conceived. The glass they use is 100% recycled and they’ve removed all unnecessary and non-recycled material from their products. Their wood stopper is FSC certified and their bottle closure is biodegradable.
We were already impressed, but then they told us about their new bottle which is launching this month…
The brown ‘bottles’ you see above are made from 90% recycled paper. Yep you read that right! A bottle made from paper – it’s the future! Inside the brown layer there is a food grade pouch which can be easily and quickly removed. The paper outer-layer goes into the paper/cardboard recycling and the inner liner goes into mixed plastics. These bad boys have a much lower carbon footprint than other bottle options; 84% lower than glass and 34% lower than a bottle made from 100% recycled plastic. Even the screwcap is recyclable (it’s aluminium).
As if that isn’t enough, Wildjac donate 1% of sales revenue back to charitable causes such as the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
We’re super excited for you guys to try some of their eco-friendly products during BCW2023 but in the meantime if you fancy trying some of their award winning spirits, head to their online shop.
