And did you also know that when you enjoy one of their cocktails you’re actually supporting the arts?
Profits from this BCW venue all support The Birmingham Rep to continue to develop fantastic productions, to provide free and discounted theatre tickets for under-represented groups, to engage schools and community groups with the arts and so much more.
So if you needed an excuse to pop in for a cocktail post BCW2022, then that’s it right there!
We caught up with the Bar Manager and our request was simple – make us a cocktail from your menu that is perfect for sipping in the sunshine and gives us a taste of the theatre.
In response we were served a ‘Peach Melba’.
Firstly this is a cocktail named after an opera singer (Nellie Melba, the Australian soprano) so that’s a strong start on our brief.
The drink is made up of:
– Whitley Neil Raspberry Gin
– RunQuinQuin a la Peche
– Vanilla Syrup
– Topped with soda
It’s the garnish that gives us that real taste of the theatre – frozen raspberries and vanilla ice cream (but not just any ice cream). It’s the little things in life that often make you smile, and we love that the ice cream is actually from those delightful little tubs normally served in the interval at The Birmingham Rep.
It’s a light and sweet drink. Perfect for sipping on the outdoor terrace in the sunshine, with views of Centenary Square.
